Thomas Harrop

After graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography, Harrop became Managing Editor for Petersen’s Photographic magazine. Upon leaving Photographic magazine, Harrop became a full-time photographer for NASA. Next came stints as Editorial Director for Camera & Darkroom magazine and Managing Editor for Outdoor Photographer magazine. After retiring from the publishing industry, Harrop moved to Colorado in 1999 and entered higher education. He served as Chair of Media and Photography at Red Rocks Community College and as Colorado State Discipline Chair for Photography.

Harrop has been admitted to the American Mensa Society and the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. He has written and published seven books, including The Complete HDR Zone System Primer and Learn by Doing - Photography. Harrop is married and has three children and five grandchildren.
